Overview
HMS Hood 1/200 Scale 1300mm (50.7") British Battleship - RTR from Bancroft - BNC1060-003
HMS Hood was a British battlecruiser commissioned in 1920, named after Admiral Sir Samuel Hood. It was the pride of the Royal Navy and the largest warship in the world at the time. Originally designed during World War I, Hood was intended to combine the heavy firepower of a battleship with the speed of a cruiser. However, due to budget constraints and changing naval strategies, its construction was delayed, and it missed most of WWI.
During the interwar years, Hood became a symbol of British naval power, undertaking multiple global tours. However, its design had critical flaws, including inadequate deck armor, which made it vulnerable to plunging shellfire. These weaknesses were tragically exposed on May 24, 1941, during the Battle of the Denmark Strait. Hood engaged the German battleship Bismarck, but within minutes, a shell from Bismarck struck Hood’s magazine, causing a catastrophic explosion and sinking the ship, with only three survivors.
Bancroft’s 1/200 scale HMS Hood delivers an impressive museum-quality piece to be displayed on your mantle or astonish your RC boat club with this functional RTR historic model. Hundreds of parts are already assembled, painted, and installed for you. Delivered Ready to Run (RTR), the vessel can be sailing within minutes of arrival, using the included 2.4Ghz radio transmitter, 7.4v 2S LiPo battery, and charger. Only four AA batteries and minimal assembly is required.

Bancroft model boats are molded and hand finished using very intricate details and parts including metal, wood, plastic, and fiberglass. Because of their hand made nature, minor imperfections in the fiberglass, metalwork, or painting may exist. These potential imperfections will not affect the seaworthiness of the vessel or the overall scale boating experience. Bancroft scale RC boats are fragile so care should be taken when moving or transporting your model.
Some of the electronics in this Bancroft boat, including the Battery, ESC, Motor, and Receiver, are NOT intended to get wet; they are NOT water resistant. If any of these electronic components get wet and you attempt to operate your model, the water can cause an electrical short-circuit and void your warranty. In the rare instance that you get water inside your vessel, you should drain the water completely and allow all electronics to fully dry before attempting to operate your model.
